I think it is an innovative idea, even with other trees. Maybe can't do grown trees due to the space limit, but I wonder about cutting them down but leaving the trunks in a row. My guess is it might not be enough to keep some things out, but could bee some cool design options for bases. Example, trunk seats for a wooden table.
