Here's something to try out if you haven't yet. Wait for the mob to swing and step back. They miss, you hit. The easiest combat for little children I've seen. Nothing like New World where mobs have different styles and use 3 types of attacks that throw your defense off guard. Valheim is SUPER EASY and combat can be exploited.
