you're somewhat limited in what you can accomplish in the Meadows but
upgrade your leather armor and weapons as much as you can and then
venture into the Black Forest. It's scary at first but many people end up
liking it. Pick up anything new you find and sometimes that will unlock
something; sometimes you need to make something new in order to
unlock something else.
