I'd prefer some sort of painting system if all you want is different colored woods.

Like some sort of a stain that can be crafted that will change the (already built) wood from the normal color to red, or white or darken it.

This would absolutely be a great addition, but I was thinking of a different styled wall like we have 4 different pole styles (yes I know their different uses, but all the same).

I feel like if the stain was added you could water proof regular wood with a clear version like polyurethane. Crafting could be a recipe like 1 tar and 2 resin/amber or something like that just to give those resources more usefulness.

I adore this idea, cause then if you stain say a floor before you can put the roof on in say a village build (theoretically speaking of course, as I do not know how you build your structures) you could protect it from the rain should it come through while you apply the final touches as it's weathered for that. This could also add to the stability, as the weathered against weather wood would now last longer during say a severe thunderstorm as the water is unable to penetrate the wood particles.

There are so many things that should and could be easily added to tide people over while they wait for actual content, like alternate skins for existing building materials, alternate models for existing weapons, alternate skins for existing armors or dyes for existing armors...you got a little taste of that with the silver shield and black metal shield which had alternate patterns and colors.

Yes, there are a ton of things they can and possibly will add in the future, I was just noticing we have had a ton of stones, metals, and glass added to the game; the most we have gotten for wooden pieces would be the ones we have for the base walls, the newer poles, the cute little shutters, and the new wooden gate that was added into the game; so perhaps we could look forward to some new wooden walls for those of us who love the look of wood?
