You need to "control" where the smoke goes... Smoke particles are big... 2m x 2m is the size, so you must create a flue directly above the fire and it needs to be a 2m x 2m "hole" so the particles can pass through, and then either make a "covered" chimney on the roof, or create an enclosed area, overhead, where the smoke can hang out and eventually dissipate...

The smoke shown is contained inside the "duct" and never accumulates any more than that, AND can't choke you while it's in there.
