But yes, we need to be able to substitute materials in recipies so that stuff stays useful. Another thing would be for the merchant to be able to buy anything.

Which reminds me- There's nothing you can do with the cash loot you pick up. You can sell the rubies, amber and amber pearls to the Trader for cash. But he doesn't sell much of anything. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have been bringing Ooze back from the Swamps instead. That has crafting and cooking uses.
