lol that was the first thing i tried to do, shoring up a hole so i could build a tunnel .. to no avail its a no go.

Yet. I'm hopeful they'll add the function in the future, mine shafts seem so logical. Though it might make underground bases far too OP and doesn't seem very viking aside from natural caves.
