the bracing must meet the "weight" characteristics.. but yes im a irl carpenter and struggled with this for quite a few hundred in-game days!! if you have made it to swamp biome and passed second boss you will soon have access to iron and stone that helps a lot!!

i have a all around love for building and this game is a disgrace for having no ability to brace a pillar
