I've had this happen more times than I am happy with. I can always click 2 and 5 and get my shied and mace up. It seems like I have problems when I want to switch to bow or back. It always take at least one more click than you think it will. You have to wait , then deliberately click the weapon you want. It does suck because often times i end up bare knuckle fighting a wolf or a furling.
