I run around the plains in a combo of lvl 3 padded helm, and leggins, with a lvl 2 Fenris chest to offset the speed penalty. Weapons are lvl 3 draugr fang, lvl 3 black metal shield and axe.

Even the dreaded deathsquito is now mostly an annoyance. Single Fulings easily get disposed off.

What you have to watch out for are Lox, Fuling beserkers and whole groups of Fulings. They will kill you quicker then you can think, if you are not prepared.

Food is THE most important item in Valheim. I keep saying that. Are you ignoring it?

Edit: If Fulings two shoot you, you probably at most ate some deer or pig. Good for meadows, even black forest, but not beyond.

Our group (4-5 People) run around the plains like two or three weeks now.
Me als the "Tank" of the Group and our closeup Damage Dealer both have silver Shields and Frostner to max level both, and wear full Silver + Wolf Cape.
Our Range Master only has a full upgraded Root Set + Lox Cape. Our Scout runs around in full Troll and keep a Lox Cape in Reserve for Mountain runs.

Weapon besides the Frostners are Draugr Fangs and Silver Melee.
Our Food depends on our Role in the Group. Tanks like me eat mostly Sausages, Lox, and Wolf Jerky. Range DD and Scout go with Onion Soup, Lox, and sometimes Eyescream or Wolf Jerky, and... oh boy mostly we are careful.. pick Enemys 1 by 1 or shoot them (like Lox) but there are crazy moments (mostly with a ton of real life Mead in our heads :P ) where we storm a village, frost the most Gobbos and shoot them for fun.

So: Eat well take the Armour that fits your playstyle and have fun.

Only Critic i have is, "Please chance the Troll Set to a 3 ile Set so the Cape can be various, like Root oder Fenris Set"
