Your toe, seriously? Weapons come off at the waist or higher. Try it IRL... put on about 150 pounds of metal (lacking an armor set, you can just use weights ) and swim while fighting.
I would have coded it so we just sink if carrying more than 50 units total. Letting you swim at all was a kindness.
