If you're so confused why it doesn't matter, if you're so perplexed why people care, let me tell you: Valheim is at it's core, a survival game with a structured progression that marks the experience, time, and effort put into the current world. All that time spent leads towards large obstacles that must be overcome, and without cheating the obstacles simply exist. All the intended experiences simply do not exist when cheating for benefits occur, and most new players aren't looking to cheat on hour 0. They are looking for the intended experience, not YOUR intended experience.

"There is no triumph without a struggle" the wise man said.

It's a sense of commitment, and value, that is put into the server if server-side features were added in. Mods are unfortunately the only way to remedy this situation, it doesn't have to be like that though.
