lol not to mention the horrid performance tanking that would occur if your entire base started to crumble from the bottom up ... jeez wouldn't want to be around for that lol.

Bu at the same time you should able to solve the problem with thicker base or foundation you should check the bottom parts first if you dont want to collapse your all building. also no one could say anything to a concept which literally true. Not being able to build higher structures which could be possible by physics is much more frusturating.
