Why do people need digital gold star stickers to feel accomplishment. Don't get that from completing a build? Defeating that boss? Managing a successful corpse run in a shady area?
Seems to me that the achievements are really there for someone to have a visible "Look at me and how awesome I am" page for other players to oogle at.

Having the achievements doesn't affect my enjoyment, nor do I care, but to each their own I guess. Again though...it's Early Access. I doubt that was at the top of the priority list even if they intended to add them. If they did, it would be near completion.
