If you've only leveled your clubs skill, and you're wandering around with a bronze mace... hit them with a torch, instead; it does more damage. Yes, really. They're resistant to blunt, pierce, and slash... but fire works wonderfully.

That being said, fire arrows are the best; damaging them at range means they don't get to hit you back.

Thanks! Even an upgraded iron mace takes an inconvenient amount of time to beat down a Wraith. The first time I survived a Wraith attack was more satisfying than my first hand-to-hand Troll kill.
