Game meat is pretty strong in flavour so Blueberries can be very mild tasting in comparision, almost disappearing. I have not tried Blueberries with Farmed meat though. Only Pork with Pineapple, and in that the Pineapple comes through strongly. Farmed meat is very tasteless. The Inuit comment alot on southern meats being tasteless and odorless and when you try raw game meat (including organs) straight from the kill from "north-of-40" you understand why. Game meat is just SO strong in flavour. After cooking you can smell it a mile away :)
Depends. I serve burgers, meatloaf, tacos and pasta ALL the time to guests, literally all the time, and they can never even tell. Field dressing game immediately is most impotant, the cooler the weather the less critical. then throw it in a cooler for a week and let it tenderize, and process yourself. The major difference with deer is the total lack of fat, you have to change your cooking style, like keep your bacon grease, youre gonna need it. If its gamey, means they let a big buck sit in the back of thier truck and drove it around town to show thier friends before taking to a processor
