The game goes thru cycles, simulating weather of course, clear day, rain, wind, thuderstorms and lighting and fog make the game immersive/alive and what it is. Just keep going about what your doing, I do. rarely ever do I allow any weather to mess with what I am doing, either sailing or building and fighting, in fact some of my most favorite combat experineces in Valheim is in the plains at night with fog and or day time with thick fog, sailing during this time also is really cool.
