It's definitely bugged, someone put a >= where there should be a > or vice-versa.

If I load 20 coal and 10 -tin/copper- at the end of the run I get 1-2 coal left with no resources. The timing really seems off

No.

They can't just not have big creatures. The hitbox mechanics and movement around obstacles could be better but it would be a huge project for a small team with a thousand other things to do.

I built on a small island and released wolves outside of the walls. They naturally breed without help and have since spread to the mainland :)

Spikes are rather nice for passive defense,just need to maintain them

also build base structures in the surrounding area to keep mobs from spawning as you fight. getting attacked by wolves while fighting her is lethal.

have at least 2 portals, both reasonably far away from the summoning stone and don't go near them during the fight unless you are retreating.Making hidy holes under/behind big rocks is not that useful..

No offense but.. is this a troll attempt? I have trouble not getting triggered.

New player as well, however, Odins ravens do give you hints as to what to do if certain things arise such as being cold and what you need to build. they also let know things as you gather new and more..

First of all look at your mini map in upper right corner, you will notice a small arrow in the lower left corner... that is your wind direction... you want to place your bench and build walls and roof..

I hate to say it, but if figuring these things isn't an interesting challenge this game probably isn't for you.
