Judging by your profile pic I assume you've played Terraria right? In that game you know that getting stuff meant exploring the unexplored, Valheim is pretty much in line with that idea.

It... works almost exactly like Minecraft.You can easily mod the server to not require a password, but I don't think I'd recommend that other than for LAN play.

It can happen. I've had a Greydwarf spawn on top of a rock but eventually somehow he got off the thing. Kinda sad.

One of the best defense area is UNDER the Elder platform. Dig out the area under it, There is enough room to build a pretty good base. Doing this will give you time to collect materials to build above..

If you want your peace of mind, knock out the bosses on one world and build your base on another. You can take everything with your character on any world.
