According to the wiki, each hit to a barnacle has a 10% chance of triggering the leviathan to submerge. So every 10 whacks should do the trick, but you can get lucky and keep going.

Actually had a similar thing happen to me in my current seed.No Leviathans in sight around the time I spent from Meadows to the Mountains. Only when sailing around to a Plains destination did I finall..

We will most likely need new worlds since they need to be able to update the spawn area to compensate for a new trophy stone. At least, this is what I reckon will happen.

We are most likely 4-6 months from any huge update so i would not worry about it but when they do release Mistlands and the Dungeon updates, i would assume your old worlds will not be compatible with ..

It will probably be like the H&H update. Explored areas won't update but unexplored will. Although I wouldn't be surprised with a new biome added everyone will have to restart their world. No one ..

I'd also like to add it hardly makes any sense for an Early Access unfinished game to even be nominated for GoTY, but as others have said GoTY means nothing, it's just some feel good award.

Kill everything and clear out the spawn points in the forest surrounding the Elder's location. This greatly reduces the number of enemies who interfere.

Same thing happened to me, the only modifications I had done was to do some leveling with the hoe in the area around the altar. He was stuck in the top branches of an indestructible tree.
