Yeah wolves wont attack their own , nothing tame will attack it's own kind, not wolves not boars, not even lox.

Sounds like it's just a wolf issue, they should attack wild wolves if they attack other wild things. The boars not attacking anything, that's kind of meh, they don't sound like they're intended to be ..

Depends on your skill and timing as well as your audio level, being able to hear buzzing from deathsquitos or giggling from fulins will help massively, being able to hit/parry squitos from good timing..
