Items won't despawn within a certain radius of your own structures, so you basically gotto go toss your stuff out in the woods or into the ocean

A continued itch.io version would also be good. I like GOG a lot and it is my preferred place to buy games but I have also had good experiences with Itch.io as well. GOG has a few advantages over itch..

i think you'll find there are very few actual bugs. i'm +500 hrs and have only seen at most 5, and even those were not game breaking.

Just always have that rested bonus and eat decent food, easy as that.

Basically repeating what other have said but... get your comfort level up at home to retain the rested buff the whole time you are adventuring. Don't go out at night or otherwise get frost resistance ..

Also if you find a big rock you can use your pickaxe to dig under it for quick shelter. Build a fire and even a bed and you're good to go.
