Its generally advised not to leave a game while in transport, it can cause such things as Megahurts mentioned.If you need to log off quick, just sail to the closest land and jump out of your boat firs..

You're boat is probably sitting in the last place it was the last time the game auto-saved. Be thankful you were hosting the game, because if the host crashes and you reconnect, you'll be in the ocean..
