There is a limit to how high you can raise ground, and also to how far you can dig down. You may have to build a bridge if it isn't too far.

The closest you can get to this is taming wolves or lox, or to make a certain item when you get to mistlands. And that's only for fighting, food, and to use as a mount in the case of the lox.
