There is no plant snapping in vanilla, it's literally a mod issue.

the map could use a lot of love I agree. I love custom way points etc.. should have a symbol for mining, enemies.. etc.. a few more icons can't hurt and then adding in 4 basic colors would be nice jus..

If you hover your pointer over the explored part it will tell you biome, I think its in the upper right, small print, easy to miss.

What stage of the game are you in? Between tamed loxen, ships, and portals you shouldn't have this issue. The early parts of the game do involve a lot of A to B, though, but you shouldn't need to roam..

If playing the game puts you to sleep I would play a different game

i think paving helps especialy for wagons so you can transport more so need to do less trips

Set up portal at point A. Run to point B. Set up portal named the same as point A. Never run between them again.
