That's why I use mods. There's one for keeping all the inventory on death. And there's no death penalty anymore. So you keep all your experience. Maybe it's Valheim plus or another.

After death you get a huge stamina bonus. Just eat some food, activate eikhtyr, and run. Smart stamina management and terrain usage are enough 90% of the time. You don't even need clothes for that

They've already got that in the works, according to a Tweet from one of the devs. No news on when it will be implemented, though.
