It's early access so I wouldn't get emotionally attached to anything you do in the game. Anything could change, worlds could become obsolete, etc.

If you want to mess with mods and all that comes with them then yeah, probably an answer there. If you don't wan't to mess with all that and the headaches they can bring (for me, anyway) then no, this..

I like the beginning of the game a lot, from swamp forward it’s just ok for me. So I get my base where I want it, explore surrounding areas, go play something else for a while and restart.

in this example i see plains as the russian/ukranian steppe. the Rus Vikings are often forgotten compared to their kin who went west to england and beyond. the plains may be a nod to them.

U just can install some mods that can give u backpacks

And boats. Longships and Karves can hold unlimited weight, and can carry a lot. Karves can only carry 4 stacks of items, but longships carry much much more.

If you've already sunk 3000 hours into it, what's another playthrough? Chances are you won't even like Mistlands.
