meadows - training biome, not a lto of distinguishing characteristics. meadows and deciduous forests exist all over europe.

black forest - seems to be a direct reference to germany, central europe. relatively close to scandinavia.

swamps - peat bogs are found as close as scandinavia, such as Linnunsuo. also in UK and throughout europe.

mountains - could be alps, urals, scandes, etc. still not leaving europe to find this climate.

plains - this is where it starts to get interesting. surely i am not the only player to notice that the plains are currently the last biome, and that it kind of implies it is farthest from the natural home of vikings, scandinavia. the plains seem to be a direct metaphor for north american exploration by vikings. the plains is an environment in the central US, with fulings positioned as native americans, with their own tribal culture and improvised tech, and lox are buffalo.

ashlands - very southern climate, likely equatorial, like north africa.

deep north - arctic circle
Northmen were often employed as mercenaries in the Mediterranean El Monseur if I remember hired a bunch to fight for him and as personal guards and they saw quite a bit of service in the desert areas.

so, southern europe, like spanish or italian desert? or mesopotamia?
