They said on twitter that the work on Mistlands begun in March this year. Considering the summer vacation that's about 5 months. They are absolutely not going to release 3 new biomes.

mistlands is the only unfinished "interior" biome, unless you count oceans.so, with mistlands, the game will be brought much closer to overall completion because there wont be any empty biom..
