Make a smelter base in the swamp. I usually raise the earth connected between 3 or more unbreakable trees and roof it off as a base for smelting. At least some time can be saved that way so you can ke..

pro tip. wait till dark fill your smelters and go to sleep. it speeds up time and should halve the time it takes to smelt a full 20 iron.

I must say that boss locations only changed a little bit for me. You might be lucky in scouting out the area around the original boss location.
