They do yeah but still, mining the small peckers seems to be much faster way to collect stone, than spending time on the big ones.

Frost weapons are already magic. Summoning bosses and using portals are magic. The fireside chat hinted at the devs trying something different for Mistlands, but nothing so out there that it no longer..

The behavior of raids seems to have changed quietly over the game's updates a bit. The current info seems to be that they unlock on the previous biome boss and upgrade when you kill the current biome ..
