@Shalindra, if your husband is open to using mods, I saw a complete UI overhaul mod recommended in another thread, and decided to check it out. The minimap is larger in the modded UI. Not much larger, but every little bit helps. The scale of the minimap is also one of the mod settings, so you can scale it to whatever size you prefer.
