One of the foremost goals in making a game successful is maximizing the audience it can appeal to, in its vanilla, official state - Because your casual or typical users don't mod their games. The best way to make your game appealing to a large audience is to allow them to tailor their play experience to their preferences.

Why do you care so much if someone else on a completely different server which will never impact you wants an easier or less stressful play experience? It really seems like you just want to feel special for having played-through the content others are complaining about.
