OK - I will explain it exactly.

Actually, I wanted to stimulate the questioner's imagination, but since several people seem to want to know, here is an exact description.

The first thing you need to do is answer a few questions for yourself.
1) Where do I want to build - on the mountain, by the sea or somewhere in between.
2) What should the base be able to do and how big does it have to be.
3) Which accesses do I need and how many.

Have you found your building site you prepare it with the pickaxe and the hoe. Level the building site so that it is straight and begin to erect your outer wall, e.g. from palisades. When all the pallisades are in place, you need wood to build your save zone.
I use the round wood for this (the wood from the kifers), as it is 2 and 4 meters long.

You lay 2 bars with 4 meters each at a right angle to the outside (save zone), you should keep this distance to the palisade more or less exactly everywhere.

At the edge of this save zone you either pour (sea) an embankment on which is high enough that even trolls cannot overcome it, or you make a ditch (mountain) that is deep enough that trolls cannot cross it.

It does not matter whether it is a deep ditch or a protective wall that the outside slopes steeply downwards so that trolls and other monsters cannot overcome them. Fliers like dragons or mosquitos of death can reach the base but can be fought with a bow or other weapons.

The distance of 8 meters to the palisade wall is important, since trolls have a large range with their attacks, but trolls do not get that far and cannot destroy your palisades and buildings.

Trolls can then only get to the base at the entrances, so the entrance should either be very narrow or a deep trench of 8 meters dug from the edge of the Savezone to the outside, which connects the surrounding area with the base by a wooden bridge.

Since the troll destroys the bridge during an attack, he can no longer enter the base. At the entrance you should make sure that it is wide enough for a cart.
