I think it's partly intentional, partly a bug on the lighting engine?

is it SUPER dark when you look in one direction, but fine if you look in the other direction?
as that's what I get, and only when looking at the sun JUST as it is setting or rising.
...or am i looking away from the moon just as it is setting or rising...
