At first I found them extremely annoying, they hit like a truck and took awhile to kill with arrows. When trying to kill them from range with my bow I was inevitably agroing other enemies. Then like trolls I decided to ignore their size and tank them. Abominations are relatively east to kill with an axe & shield. They can be easily block/parried and 4-6 hits with an axe kills them, without running all over and bringing adds into the battle.
