But Yes, I have a Mic, is correct we ought to be able to play in multiple styles. if that's not possible on defaults, the slow slide into one or two Cheesy play-styles in inevitable and well will lead to the game loosing some of its charm

You can solo the entire content of mistlands with mele, ranged or magic. Your mileage may vary and some stuff might be harder then others. Certainly not impossible however.
