The game isn't an MMO. Stop trying to treat it like one. It's meant for co-op and trusted individuals to join private games.
Sorry, how is using wards to protect your area from other people treating the game like an MMO?
I disagree that the game is only meant for trusted individuals to join private games. If so, why would the devs bother with the splash message warning players about the dangers of an open server? Why allow players to *not* place a password on the server? The game is slated for 1-10 players, not 1-10 friends. I've presented evidence supporting my perspective. What evidence do you have to say the game isn't meant for *both* friends and randos to play together?
Lastly, there are many games that are multiplayer in nature that support multiple player communities:
- Ark
- Minecraft
- Empyrion
- Space Engineers
... just to name a few. It's kind of absurd to conflate wanting more protections in your personal space so random players can join without fear of griefing and treating a game like an MMO. There are many steps in-between those two points.
Hell, by the very fact Wards are in the game means the devs expected players who don't know / trust each other to play on the same server.
