Yeah this is why I usually don't like when the self appointed netiquette police shouting "Necro!!!!" whenever a thread more than a week old is replied to. We're suppsed to search, we're not supposed to reply to an old thread? The unwritten rules need to be rewritten.

If somebody revives a thread to add absolutely nothing, or is responding to a topic that is no longer relevant because the subject is obsolete then sure that makes sense. But if somebody is actively adding to the conversation then it shouldn't matter when the OP started it.
