It isn't some pointless grind that you see in a lot of games where you grind for hours for tiny rewards to finally unlock something "better" but it is just another piece of garbage.

In this game I feel rewarded for the work I do.
If there wasn't some form of progression system you could just run through the bosses in a few hours.

Except it is, The bronze equipment tier is just the most obnoxious tier of it, complete jank made to waste time, And at no point did you explain just HOW it is reasonable to smash three ingots of the same size and volume together and lose two halves of it.

On my first playthrough i didn't even bother getting full bronze equipment because of the absurd amount of time it would take, i went into the swamp with troll hide armor, a bronze pickaxe and a bronze mace and after 3 hours i brought something like 400 iron on my swamp outpost and had full iron gear by the end of that day, Even for the "normal" tedium of the game bronze is just ridiculous.
Well you are basically wrong in your thinking.

The fact is a full set of Bronze armor cost 15 bronze to make. 15 bronze is 45 smelted items.

A full set of Iron cost 60 iron to make. And you have to haul it out, While bronze is really easy to find multiple nodes close to each other to set up a base at.

I think a lot of people get confused since the point you enter the black forest your tasks increase to include farming etc. A lot more multitasking going on.

edit - add to that post H&H it is a lot more risky running troll in the swamp. You don't have the stamina and health pool you used to.
