Oh, it's this thread again. The one that thinks 'code happens faster' is a thing you can just *buy*.

Well, to be fair, coding may not happen faster, but with hundreds of millions in profits one would think they could extensively expand their team and invest in new office space and hardware to get things developed faster. For example, by simultaneously developing several things at once

I'm all for being patient and give developers time to properly develop and test their ideas, however, 1 year for 1 patch that 'only' offers additional build pieces is perhaps stretching it
I just got started in this game, so I'm FAR from a fanboy, but I can't help but weigh in on this. I'm new to THIS game but have been gaming for a VERY long time, and used to do some programming.

First off, the GAME may have made hundreds of millions, that does NOT mean the DEVS did, you apparently mistakenly think (a VERY common fallacy) that the money goes directly to the DEVS.

Far from it. The smaller Studios (like this one) actually receive only a tiny fraction of the money because of their contracts with Steam, Epic, etc. as well as any Agents or Backers who probably own more of the game than the Devs do. It's more along the line of now they can get two pizzas a week instead of monthly. Games like this are a labor of love.

Next, lets talk about time and coding. A game developer can't just "buy office space and hire some people" if they get a chunk of money. You obviously have never actually run a business, and know little about the gaming development world.

For one thing, hiring additional programmers isn't like going to the store and picking up some milk. First they have to compete with giant gaming corporations that snap up the good coders with WAY deeper pockets than they have. Next, they have to find people that actually "click" with them. Small studios are almost a family. The new hire must blend on a personal level as well as be good at what's needed; Art, Game Play, Code Optimization, Music, on and on.

THEN if they DO find someone, they must get them up to speed on the game. That means they first need hundreds of hours of game play time as well as countless hours getting familiar with the code behind it. How can you fix a wonky skeleton if you don't even know where they live?

All of this takes time, money, more time, more money and LOTS of patience on the team's part.

Throwing money at a game doesn't enable the Devs to snap their fingers and fix this EARLY ACCESS game, so chill dude. It's a bloody complex process.
