Comparing Valheim physics to real life doesn't make any sense. You can craft iron equipment using 100+ iron bars per piece, yet that equipment weighs many times less than a single iron bar used to craft it.

That's why the cart should be balanced around the fact that metals weigh an absurd amount compared to everything else (wood, stone, your own armor).
