I suppose I should have mentioned mods as a "point to consider" too. I don't use them so not an issue for me but if you have come to rely on mods you'll have to wait for them to be updated. Valhiem+ Plus has already been updated so that's a good sign.

Can't speak to the crashing. Probably a year or so ago there was a brief period when the game would crash when I was quitting. Within a few weeks it stopped and never figured out if it was Valheim or Windows or whatever.

Other than that, I've never had the game crash. Part of the reason that I don't use mods. My computer is an older i5, GTX970, 8GB Ram (I hear you, stop laughing at me), and my video drivers are outdated (ok, laugh at me).

I have some of the graphics setting turned down for better performance and since I play at 1080p I don't think it hurts the look all that much.

Maybe the crashes are due to mods or maybe it has something to do with bigger/better/newer gear actually built in the last decade.
