Derp Diggler replied to Seeker Soldier Trophy drop rate December 27, 2022 @ 12:46:14 pm PST
it's utter ass, not go run like an idiot hoping something drops - have 21 seal fragments and not a single trophy. The mobs are also pretty rare so looking for needle in haystack is absolute disrispect for everyone's time with such balancing by the devs. I have more mats from this biome than I will ever need absolutely no point for me to do anything more in this annoying terrain.
Guess what? There's solution:
- add launch parameter "-console"
- and use command line to spawn the trophy
That's what I'm doing, because I'm not gonna be idiot running for hours over the obnoxious cliffs with slim hopes of RNGesus blessing. Not even cheating - it's fixing dev terrible balancing.
PS: if someone wonders what is the drop rate, it's 5% 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Yeah I know other people have done this as well. The problem with the 5% drop rate is that it means you "should" on average get 1 out of every 20 soldier kills, but it doesn't actually work that way. Each kill has a 5% chance to drop a trophy but you could literally kill 200+ soldiers without a single drop if your RNG is just bad for some reason. I've seen it happen... So they really need to increase it to around a 15% drop rate in order for people to be able to actually enjoy it.
The "mist" while being a cool and fun idea is actually pretty obnoxious in my opinion as well. It's just too dense... I like it but there's FAR too much of it everywhere in the mistlands and I personally actually liked the look of the old mistlands when the game first launched with the giant spiderwebs all over and was hoping they would build on that theme. If you ask me they should keep the mist but make less of it so that you just have certain areas that are covered in mist and not 90% of the mistlands making it impossible to enjoy the areas that aren't covered in cliffs.
