I have not a single idea what are you blabbering about. I've just joined a game, entered my map, pressed Alt+F4 and the game has closed right away. Are you sure your keyboard is not just busted?

The logoff button is there because of technical side. (almost) EVERY singleplayer game is creating a server the player is just being connected to. That is how Quake, Doom, Half-life, Half-life 2, Minecraft and many, many other games work.
