The atgeir is pretty good against them (for melee) with its long range so you can poke them before they poke you.

Though deathsquitoes have incredibly low health that almost anything can kill them in one hit. Don't even need a shield to block/parry if you can time your attack right.

Something odd : mace and sword have more range on normal hits than argeir ( 3.5m on sword and mace , 3.2m on atgeir )
