On my world, with its old seed and biome generation, there are both fractured coasts and more terrestial regions of mistlands. But I've yet to find what I'd classify as a standalone island (with at least some relevant structures or objects like roots or towers) in the middle of ocean with no other biome than mistland present. Feel free to share if you've found any, would be interesting to see.
