Eat food. Look at what stats each food gives and eat the balance that you think you need.

Don't underestimate your rested bonus. The massive percentage-based regeneration bonus it gives to health and stamina is going make everything faster and safer. No matter where you are you will never be too far away from some wood and stone where you can make a campfire to top yourself up to 5 minutes.

Learn to get comfortable with how dodge has been implemented. It will make you invulnerable to attacks for a very generous portion of the animation.

Almost every enemy in the game is helpless against the bow as long as you have enough arrows.

Build a wall perimeter around your base. When you get raided, lure everything away from trying to enter that perimeter.

The bronze armor set is completely not worth the time it takes to gather and refine all of its respective resources. Find out how to make the stealthier alternative and go with that. (Though you might consider the helmet which gives better defence without incurring a movement speed penalty.)
