"Modding" isn't necessarily "cheating." Mods that help you maintain a stable network connection, mods that allow you to add three-star (or more) creatures into a game, mods that simply show the contents of your chests without you having to open them, mods that link to your Discord.... None of these could be considered "cheating" in any way.

Besides that, let people play how they want to play. If the base game has lost its charm, why criticize someone for wanting to alter that?
