Yes, I think they spawn at night. I've heard that if you don't place the trophy you got, then they won't spawn, but too late nowSpoiler tags in use...
I would secure the base (I like to have a moat) and sleep at night so you don't have to deal with them once a day.
Not mounting the trophy should prevent the Plains raid event, but night spawns aren't that and yes, after you've killed Yagluth, you will get a couple of Fulings spawn at night as well as everything else. Nothing you can't handle though if you've already proven yourself ;)
